It has been a grand week indeed! I hope you have enjoyed yourself hopping around from blog to blog learning about new stories to read and meeting new people.
The carousel is still spinning, but its slowing. The giant band organ in the center is quiet; its played the last note on the reel and needs to rewound. I doubt anyone will though.
Not because its late and past closing.
Not because dozens of crows are now perched on the canopy.
Not because the hulking man in the black duster is standing by the ticket booth grinning, his blue teeth reflecting carousel lights.
No, I am thinking no will be stepping in the middle of the carousel to rewind the music because of the animals. The horses, he dogs and even the roster are stirring from a long slumber.
Waking…growling..gnashing teeth. Stretching their hunting legs.
Don’t forget: I am giving away a free ecopy of our anthology “Death by Drive-In” …how do you win? Write the creepiest 100 word flash fiction piece about a carousel. I’m the one and only judge. That’s it!
Judging coming soon!
Or just go buy a copy. Go for it, because the anthology is a charity event supporting Litworld, a “non-profit literacy organization fostering resilience, hope, and joy through the power of story.” See more at: http://litworld.org/#sthash.p0pVxbwX.dpuf
